Finance Division - Remote within ND - Assistant Budget Manager
As an Assistant Budget Manager, you work closely with the CFO team and accountants to manage budgets, analyze projections and utilize technology for reporting efficiency. In this role, you will gain the knowledge and understanding of the five major divisions and their corresponding sections of the Department which will allow you to assist the team in compiling data needed for developing the biennial budget guidelines. You will assist in creating and maintaining budget timelines, ensure the Department meets the General Fund target letter, and gather data for legislative inquiries. In addition, you will monitor Department projections, analyze variances, track unbudgeted requests and ensure proper spending. To be successful in this role, you will also need to become proficient in the use of the budget and projection system that HHS utilizes.
To thrive as an Assistant Budget Manager, you are proactive, adaptable, and a tech-savvy individual with a strong background in budgeting, and a passion for continuous learning and data analysis. You are proficient in problem-solving, critical thinking and have a knack for financial analysis. Moreover, you are able to convey complex concepts to Department leaders while maintaining professionalism.
Although the position may offer remote work options, availability to be in Bismarck during legislative sessions is required to fully engage in meaningful contributions.
To be considered for the Assistant Budget Manager, you must have a bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration with a focus in accounting and a minimum of two (2) years of budget and projection experience.
