Summary of Work

Roughrider North Human Service Zone Child Welfare/Family Services Department serves to ensure the safety, permanency and well-being of children and families in our community.

Roughrider North Human Service Zone is seeking a Child Welfare Case Manager (04-13-5380) for the Family Services Department.

As a Case Manager, you will utilize the Safety Framework Practice Model for children and families when neglect or abuse has occurred in order to prevent future maltreatment or foster care placement.

Roughrider North Human Service Zone works to protect children and families by providing services and advocacy while promoting family stability, respecting diversity, and working to create and strengthen connections to community resources. We work to prevent abuse by providing education, resources, and support to parents, families, and community organizations. Roughrider North Human Service Zone is seeking a committed, passionate Child Welfare Case Manager to serve our Child Welfare Services clients.

Case Managers in this role will perform case management activities involving complex problems/cases, assess individual and family needs, develop appropriate services and/or treatment plans to reduce the identified risk of child abuse and neglect, and provide counseling, referral, and placement services.

Case manager will also conduct case planning meetings, and will also complete written documentation, affidavits and testify at court proceedings.

Minimum Qualifications

This position maintains responsibilities of a highly complex and sensitive nature and requires a high degree of knowledge, skills, and passion in child welfare. Work activities involve decision-making within parameters of approved policies and procedures, thorough, accurate and timely responses as well as accurate documentation that complies with State and Federal Regulations. This position also requires coordination with local service providers, law enforcement and legal entities, as well as emergency response planning. This position requires some afterhours/non-traditional working hours including on-call scheduling.

Frequent travel will be required. (Valid drivers license is required)

To succeed in this position, you should have a passion for serving others and a desire to make a positive impact. You should be highly organized, able to manage your time and priorities effectively and have demonstrated ability to communicate with diverse populations. You will need to have a strong understanding of program policies and laws. You will also need to be comfortable working with all types of software and database applications, with a willingness to learn new technology programs and have attention to detail.

To be considered for this position, you must have a bachelor's degree in one of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, human development, education, human services, child development and family science, or criminal justice. Plus, one of the following:

Family Service Specialist III (SC7005): $5120 - $5800
Two (2) years of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager.

A master's degree may substitute for one (1) year of the work experience requirement.

If a Family Service Specialist is not found, an Underfill may be considered: $4800 - $5000

Family Services Specialist II (SC7004):
One (1) year of professional work experience as a social worker, child protective service worker, or professional case manager.

A master's degree in one of the above areas may substitute for the work experience requirement.

Family Services Specialist I (SC7004):
No work experience required.

The successful applicant must pass a standard background, motor vehicle, and criminal record check.
