Direct Care Associate
Location: Jamestown/Valley City, ND
Status: Full-Time (40 hrs/wk)
Buffalo Bridges HSZ is seeking a Direct Care Associate / Parent Aide to join our team. This position will be based out of the Jamestown area.
- Provide in-home care, transportation, shopping, and housekeeping duties to elderly and disabled citizens to support their continued ability to remain in their own homes and communities.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Develop individual parent aide action steps to implement the case plan created by the family team to strengthen family relationships to work towards self-reliance and independence.
- Teach parenting, job, life, and budgeting skills through a hands-on mentoring process.
- Provide encouragement and emotional support by developing a trusting and caring working relationship with the family members.
- Serve as a member of the family team in developing the treatment plan.
- Inform the Case Managers of progress or needs of families.
- Collaborate with community partners to reach the goals of the families.
- Transport, supervise visits, communicate effectively with parents, children, etc. to assist the case manager in case management activities.
- Prepare and testify in Court hearings to assist the Court in making sound decisions for the safety and wellbeing of children.
- Other duties as assigned.
To succeed in this position, you should have experience working with special population groups such as the mentally ill, developmentally disabled, children and adolescents, and patients/clients and elderly and/or disabled individuals, compassion, and be comfortable working independently. You will need to have strong communication skills, and be able to manage your time and priorities, while thoroughly documenting your activities. You will have a passion for helping others and making a difference in our community.
This position requires daily travel throughout Barnes and Stutsman counties.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role: you must be able to travel independently; be 18 years of age or older; have a high school diploma or GED and 2 years of experience providing direct care to special populations. Those holding a current CNA license are preferred.
A criminal background check and a driver's record check will be performed prior to employment.
This position requires proof of adequate vehicle insurance
