This position will be primarily in-office. There is an opportunity for hybrid work after a period of training.

Position Summary:
In support of NDSU Foundation’s mission to build enduring relationships to maximize advocacy and philanthropy in support of North Dakota State University, the IT Specialist will provide technical support for all desktop hardware, software and video conference solutions and assist with desktop updates to ensure optimal performance of IT resources. This position also supports the technical maintenance of the Foundation’s website architecture and email platform.
Essential Responsibilities:
Position Summary:
In support of NDSU Foundation’s mission to build enduring relationships to maximize advocacy and philanthropy in support of North Dakota State University, the IT Specialist will provide technical support for all desktop hardware, software and video conference solutions and assist with desktop updates to ensure optimal performance of IT resources. This position also supports the technical maintenance of the Foundation’s website architecture and email platform.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Technology Services
- Provide support to users as the first point of contact for error reporting and questions.
- Troubleshoot PC and mobile device hardware and software issues for Foundation staff and throughout building.
- Research solutions for technical issues and work with Marco technicians and external partners to relay solutions to the Associate Director of Technology Services.
- Monitor and apply updates and patches at the desktop level.
- Monitor calendars and provide video Conference Room technical assistance.
- Update and create technical documentation.
- Assist the VP of Information Services and the Associate Director of Technology Services in implementing security standards and policies.
- Assist in large scale software implementation.
- Learn new software and provide end user training.
- Provide new user training, maintain forms and results in Formsite.
2. Hardware Services
- Track all hardware and maintain the Foundation’s comprehensive inventory.
- Install and configure hardware according to standards and industry best practice.
- Install and configure software components to ensure usability and security including issuing software licenses as directed.
- Assist new employees with initial access.
- Deprovision old hardware following steps to sanitize and move to NDSU Surplus.
3. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications team to maintain website
- Stay current on industry trends and tools necessary to technically build and maintain Foundation website(s)
- Use approved templates to create new web pages as requested.
- Monitor the website and the plug-ins for security updates and work with Associate Director of Technology Services to apply all patches.
- Monitor website platforms for application of updates and consistent backups.
- Monitor the website for outdated or duplicate information and work with Associate Director of Technology Services to update
4. Execute the technical aspects of the broadcast email process
- Use broadcast email tools to setup, format and send mass emails as requested and scheduled.
- Use templates that follow NDSU Foundation branding requirements for all broadcast email sent on behalf of the Foundation.
- Work with the Database and Reporting Specialist to attach the appropriate list for each email.
5. Supports a service-oriented atmosphere in accordance with Foundation mission, values, and philosophy
- Adheres to policies and procedures.
- Assists with the day-to-day inflow of development communications requests.
- Manages workload to meet quality standards and timeline expectations.
- Adapts appropriately to unforeseen changes, delays, and requests.
- Maintains strict confidence of non-public Foundation information.
- Develops and maintains own competence; seeks opportunities for continued learning and professional development.
- Assists in control of Foundation resources.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and 2 years’ experience in related field working in IT support OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with WordPress or other web tools
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work and communicate patiently and professionally with a variety of customers
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with HTML, Javascript, CSS, Word Press and plug-ins
- Experience with Windows Server and Active Directory

Occasionally required to move, raise, reach and/or retrieve binders, books, boxes, and files up to ten (10) pounds.
