What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cable Plow Operator Buried Drop Technician position at NEA Construction?
Job Summary:
Responsible for demonstrating and developing the skills and knowledge required for installing and/or maintain service drops this will include working with both aerial and buried drops for connecting customer homes and businesses. The Drop Technician will operate a vibratory plow/trencher, read, create, maintain schematics/diagrams and bore under sidewalks and driveways when appropriate. This position requires a self-starter that can work efficiently and independently to meet deadlines and deliver high quality work.
Relevant Work Experience:
- 0-2 Years of Field Operations or Construction related experience.
Environmental Requirements:
Factors affecting environmental conditions will vary depending on the assigned work area and task.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to carry and climb a 28' ladder from truck to pole and/or house.
- Ability to work in an array of weather conditions.
- Walking, sitting, kneeling & crouching for extended periods.

What You’ll Do:
- Perform the physical installation of buried copper, fiber & coaxial drop cable to connect networks to the customers’ residence.
- Interpret work drawings and instructions and complete necessary paperwork.
- Operate machinery including trenching and boring equipment for burying cable.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
