What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Person position at NEADS World Class Service Dogs?
Overview of the position:
The full-time maintenance person performs a variety of work including general custodial and maintenance of facilities, grounds maintenance and equipment maintenance; daily, weekly, and seasonally.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Follow all established NEADS protocols, procedures, and policies
· Grounds; mow lawns, trim shrubs and trees, empty receptacles
· Snow removal: all buildings entrances and exits, Canine Center play yards
· Maintain NEADS fleet vehicles; check fluids, tires, wipers, schedule services, inspections and maintain monthly log
· Maintain mowers, snow blowers, other yard equipment and tools
- Effectively use variety of hand and power tools
· Lighting: replace bulbs, clean covers and maintain inventory
· Replace HVAC filters and maintain inventory
· Repair locks, hinges, and toilets
· Inspect buildings for damages, repair or report need for professional services: carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.
· Maintain inventory for paper products
· Ability to repair small carpentry needs; Other repairs as needed; Ability to work independently and proactively as well as within a team
· Flexible to changes in work schedule
o Regular shift is 7am – 3:30pm
o Nights and weekends as needed
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 pounds is required
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years or older; High School diploma or equivalent preferred, plus training and experience which demonstrates ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described. Possession of a valid Massachusetts driver’s license is required. Skills also required are safe and effective use of power tools and equipment.
Schedule:
This position will generally work Monday through Friday 7am – 3:30pm with Saturday & Sunday off. There will be some variations during snowstorms and Campus emergencies.
Compensation: Starts at $20/hour
