Bookkeeper
Position Summary
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the company’s payroll, talent, and model payments, checking accounting records for accuracy, tracking invoices from vendors and payments, and maintaining a system for organizing company documents by performing the following duties:
Essential Functions
- Track and manage financial data; this data is essential for accountants during the company’s tax filing season
- Manage QuickBooks accurately by documenting all transaction records in the system (if these records aren’t integrated in the system)
- Track payroll data to submit payroll on time (i.e., track hours and commissions)
- Maintain records of financial transactions by posting and verifying
- Revise and define bookkeeping policies and procedures (when seen fit)
- Maintain subsidiary accounts by posting, verifying, and allocating transactions to the correct chart of accounts, class type, and payment accounts
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements (i.e., IRS, TWC, etc.)
- Assist in financial activities such as running payroll, issuing refunds, and generating invoices when needed.
- Ensure accounts receivable are accurate through Acuity and CDS
- Track payments made towards events such IMTA
- Track mother agency commissions quarterly
- Handle bank deposits and compile this data accurately in all systems
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field; or a combination of education and professional experience
- Ability to handle multiple bookkeeping duties simultaneously while ensuring seamless execution through stellar organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to focus on a repetitive task and consistently accurate data entry.
- Confidentiality in all facets of the company’s intellectual property and practices
- Comfortable dealing with vast volumes of complex data
- Solves non-routine problems in collaboration with their manager; takes the initiative to modify procedures and processes as appropriate and makes contributions that impact financial results
- Ability to work both independently and within a growing team.
- Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedules.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, Square (payment processor), PayPal and QuickBooks
- Must have proficient basic math skills and the ability to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry knowledge in accounting
- Respectful and courteous when interacting with others; a calm and collaborative demeanor is expected when working through conflict.
- Experience with CDS, BOX, and Acuity
- Comfort and experience in assisting as needed.
- Minimum 2-3 years of bookkeeping experience (in a related field)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
