Overview: Near North is looking for an experienced Escrow Officer for our growing office who will be responsible for the timely and accurate completion of real estate transactions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate settlement statements
- Assists agents with any problems and resolves complaints in a manner that will satisfy the customer's needs
- Provide Title Documents to parties as needed
- Updated Closed files with 1099 information for submission to IRS
- Review title commitment to ensure all requirements and exceptions are met to provide clear title and compliance with Lender Instructions
- Keep parties in constant communication and deal in motion
- Proactively circulate closing conditions email and subsequent updated versions of open items
- Review docs for completion (notary, wet ink signatures, blanks)
- Collect Earnest Money Deposits and notify parties when funds are received
- Coordinates escrow holdbacks
- Coordinate with appropriate parties to clear New Construction Exceptions, request sworn statements and waivers
- Ensure timely delivery of all Lender packages
- Scan all documents to appropriate files
- Prepare recording and marked-up commitment package and provide for audit
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 years of escrow or real estate closing experience, preferably with a book of business
- Title Insurance experience preferred
- High School Diploma; College Degree preferred
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation
- Willing and able to travel as needed
- SoftPro experience is a plus
- Superior customer service, organization and accuracy
- Interpersonal with strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the real estate industry and local market
