Primary Role in the Organization:

Establish and maintain a safe and healthy working environment for all NRI associates, while ensuring compliance with all applicable OSHA and EPA regulations.
 

Responsibilities:

1)  Conduct associate training on a variety of environmental, health and safety topics

2)  Conduct accident and incident investigations and maintain their records

3)  Conducts and maintains Hazardous Waste Management training and procedures

4)  Conduct environmental,health, safety and internal audits

5)  Input and maintain all incident reports

6)  Assist with ISO 14001 activities

7)  Provide CPR/First Aid to injured associates, if needed. Take care of BBP's as needed

8)  Security Administrator

            9). Maintain Regulatory Compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT)

10)  Schedule, organize and arrange payment for Waste removal and EHS supplies

11)  Coordinate vendor (i.e. shoe truck, prescription eyewear) activities

12)  Conduct new equipment safety reviews

13)  Develop, implement, maintain and enforce company safety policies and procedures

14)  Conduct, oversee or assist safety inspections (Extinguishers, eye wash, light curtain)

15)  Assist with corrective action development and implementation activities (i.e. 5P)

16)  Oversee safety committee activities 

17)  Support 6S program

18)  Support all international standard certifications obtained by the company, including meeting customer requirements, delivering intended process outputs, identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement and following all document control program requirements

19)  Maintain organization of Hazardous Waste Storage Building

20)  Insurance Claim Contact (Property, BWC)

21)  Responsible for conforming to the IATF 16749, ISO 14001:2015 standards, and customers’ requirements

22) Any other duties as needed/required

 

Qualifications:

A.  Experience

1)  At least two years of related work experience

2)  At least one year experience conducting associate training classes

 

B.  Education

1)  Associate's Degree or Equivalent Job Experience

 

Requirements:

A.  Physical Demands

1)  Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis

2)  Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time

3)  Must be able to sit and perform data entry for extended periods of time

4)  Must be able to push/pull up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis

5)  Must be able to wear and work in respiratory protection

6)  Must be able to work around and with a variety of chemicals

7)  Must be able to work at elevated heights

 

B.  Equipment Usage

1)  Computer Experience (i.e. Email, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, various databases)

2)  Basic Office Equipment (i.e. Copier, Telephone, Etc.)

3)  Powered Industrial Truck

4)  High Lift and Aerial Platform

5)  Confined Space Meter

6)  Anemometer

           

C.  Mental/Cognitive Demands      

1)  Excellent organizational skills

2)  Ability to work flexible hours and overtime at short notice

3)  Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization

4)  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

5)  Working knowledge of OSHA, NFPA, ANSI, and EPA regulations

6)  Working knowledge of Ohio worker's compensation system

7)  Ability to develop training programs on various environmental, health and safety topics

8)  Ability to work unsupervised and prioritize projects

9)  Ability to work effectively under stress with short deadlines

10)  Ability to adapt quickly to changes in work requirements or assignments

11)  Good public speaking (i.e. training) skills 

12)  Good analytical and mechanical acumen

13)  Excellent attendance record

 

D. Training Requirements

1). Maintain HAZWOPER 40 HR Certification

2). Maintain RCRA Hazardous Waste Management Certification

3). Maintain DOT Certification

 

Preferred Skills:

  1. Certifications

1.)  American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

2.)  OSHA 10 hour Certification
