Primary Role in the Organization:
Provide first level support for hardware, software and peripherals.
Reports To:
Manager, MIS
Supervises:
None
Responsibilities:
- Setup and maintain computer hardware, software and peripherals for production and office areas.
- Setup and support of telephone, security camera and copier systems.
- Maintain network connections for production and office areas.
- Maintain organization of storage areas and inventory of equipment.
- Provide training and support to end users and staff on computer operations.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or emails regarding PC and/or hardware problems. Sometimes requires off-shift support.
- If necessary, liase with the third party support and PC equipment vendors.
- Other duties as requested.
Qualifications:
A. Experience
1.) Previous (system) experience a must.
2.) Minimum 2 years experience preferred or Associates Degree in field.
B. Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Additional IT networking education preferred.
Requirements:
A. Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to walk, sit, and stand for lengthy periods of time.
- Must be able to climb ladder, work in High Lift, and on Aerial Platform.
B. Equipment Usage
Knowledge of computers, printers, phones, etc..
C. Mental/Cognitive Demands
- Excellent technical knowledge of network and PC hardware.
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Working technical knowledge of current network protocols, operating systems, and standards.
- Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
- Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides.
- Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
- Effective interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
