Job Summary
Responsible for helping manage, supervise, and scheduling workload for the Concrete Industries maintenance team and form-welding crew. Must abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Reliable attendance required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Knows and enforces the safety policies of OSHA and Concrete Industries.
Knows and enforces the quality standards of PCI and Concrete Industries’ QSM.
Assumes the role of Equipment Superintendent when s(he) is absent.
Works with the Structural Management team to ensure form changes are done in a timely manner.
Assists in coordinating service and repairs of all Concrete industries equipment with the maintenance department.
Works with Equipment Superintendent to keep inventory of the necessary tools and supplies that the maintenance personnel require to do their daily tasks.
Maintains a high degree of visibility in the plant/yard reviewing workmanship of maintenance projects and forming change overs.
Reads and interprets plans and specifications, site instructions, blueprints, rough sketches and all drawings relevant to the project (including, but not limited to - structural drawings, architectural drawings, mechanical drawings, electrical drawings, etc.).
Works with maintenance personnel to assure preventive maintenance schedules are maintained as well as emergency repairs of production equipment are complete in a timely manner; this may require having employees work evenings and weekends.
Reviews the purchasing needs that is based on established production schedules for the structural department, ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assists in the managing of 10-15 nonexempt employees. Must carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and help the Equipment Superintendent resolve problems.
Education and/or Experience:
Candidate is required to meet the above qualifications, task frequency and PPE requirements. Approval of pre-employment reference & background checks, and post offer drug/alcohol testing with back screens (if required) are required as conditions of employment.

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
- four to five years of directly related experience with maintenance, welding and/or training as well as supervisory experience; or
- an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license and must be insurable.
- AWS certifications in welding preferred; must have ability to become AWS certified in arc welding in all positions within three months of employment.
- Previous supervisory experience with emphasis in managing labor pools and maintaining quality standards.
- Knowledge in metallurgy is required.
- Must have mechanical aptitude with established knowledge in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints and other documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft office products: Outlook, Excel and Word.
- General math skills required for production, and inventory reporting.
- The position may be required to be "on-call" to respond to emergency situations. The position may require extended work hours to meet business production needs, including nights and weekends.
- Must have exceptional people motivation skills with good communication skills.
- Must have excellent demonstrated management/leadership skills.
- Must be detail oriented with an ability to coordinate multiple tasks with strong organizational skills.
- Must have good problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively with employees of organization. Bilingual skills helpful.
