TSA Instructional Coach. Full-time position beginning the 2025 / 2026 school year. Teaching Certification is required.

Nebo School District Instructional Coaching positions will be provided to schools to coach teachers in good instructional practice. This includes instruction in literacy integrated into all content areas. The Instructional Coach supports teachers in literacy, math and Multilingual (ML) instruction. Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the science of reading and general instructional strategies. Must have the ability to work as a coach and staff developer. Must demonstrate skills in modeling and facilitating intervention strategies. Will work closely with school principal and staff to implement district instructional goals. May be assigned to work with one or two schools. Elementary certification is required.

Purpose Statement

The job of Instructional Coach is done for the purpose / s of providing support for classroom teachers in instruction, assessment and data analysis. This job is distinguished from similar jobs by the following characteristics : This job works with all teachers and is not assigned to a specific classroom.

This job reports to Associate Superintendent - Curriculum

Experience : Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility is desired.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinates with school administrators for the purpose of supporting school needs, providing professional learning, and communicating information.
  • Coordinates with district leadership and teacher leaders for the purpose of providing professional learning and communicating information.
  • Investigates and disseminates information on best practices and research for the purpose of ensuring proper use of curriculum.
  • Participates in meetings, workshops and / or trainings for the purpose of conveying and / or gathering information required to perform job functions.
  • Participates in relevant organizations for the purpose of networking and keeping up with best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Performs other duties associated with district and state assessments for the purpose of ensuring the best instructional practices for the general student population.
  • Performs coaching responsibilities for the purpose of modeling, mentoring, and supporting others.
  • Provides professional learning for the purpose of supporting district teachers in the area of most need.
  • Supports teachers and administrators in using data for the purpose of making instructional decisions.
  • Works with district curriculum team members for the purpose of coordinating curriculum initiatives.
  • Job Requirements : Minimum Qualifications

  • SKILLS are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : analyzing data; applying curriculum and instructional techniques; comparing results; conducting meetings; estimating required resources; using pertinent software applications.
  • KNOWLEDGE is required to perform advanced math; read a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and / or present information to others; and analyze situations to define issues and draw conclusions. Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : assessment instruments and techniques; current and emerging curricula; instructional media / equipment; stages of child development.
  • ABILITY is required to schedule activities and / or meetings; often gather, collate, and / or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstances; analyze data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods. Ability is also required to work with a wide diversity of individuals; work with a variety of data; and utilize specific, job-related equipment. Problem solving is required to identify issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited. Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include : maintaining confidentiality; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team.
  • Responsibility

    Responsibilities include : working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information and / or advising others; operating within a defined budget. Utilization of some resources from other work units may be required to perform the job's functions. There is some opportunity to impact the organization's services.

    Work Environment

    The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands : some lifting, carrying, pushing, and / or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and / or crawling and some fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, 50% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
