NALHD staff at all levels believe that all Nebraskans should have access to what they need to be healthy and well. We also believe that high-functioning local health departments are key to making this vision a reality. To this end, NALHD staff support and amplify the work of Nebraska’s local and tribal health departments.


NALHD is currently looking for a Program Impact Analyst. The Program Impact Analyst will play a key role in managing and analyzing program and organizational data to support NALHD’s mission of strengthening and modernizing Nebraska’s local public health system. This individual will work closely with NALHD leadership team to enhance decision-making and performance tracking.

 

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in collecting, synthesizing, analyzing, and presenting data in accessible and actionable ways. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

What you will do:

 

Become a data detective:

  • Identify, gather, organize, clean, manage, and synthesize data related to NALHD
  • Develop and manage
  • Assist with implementing focus groups, key informant interviews, and other data collection methods.
  • Identify and synthesize secondary data sources (such sources include but are not limited to census data, vital statistics, health-related survey and surveillance data and hospital/health insurance claims data).
  • Identify trends and themes from Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with privacy standards.
  • Utilize data collection, analysis, and reporting tools such as Qualtrics, ESRI, mySidewalk, CANVA, .

Tell a story with data:

  • Support NALHD leadership and staff by contributing data expertise to proposals, reports, and communication assets.
  • Assist with making data assets health literate.
  • Work with the Senior Communications and Creative Specialist to Create dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate trends, outcomes, and key insights.

Guide groups to reach the stars:

  • Provide technical support to NALHD staff and members for tools such as Qualtrics, LearnWorlds, and other systems utilized by NALHD.
  • Serve as an Excel expert, offering advanced technical support and guidance.
  • Support funding proposal development and reporting by integrating data insights and analysis.
  • Collaborate with NALHD leadership to coordinate and implement data collection strategies.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Self-motivated, collaborative, and adaptable professional with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially advanced Excel functionality.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply data tools like Qualtrics, ESRI, LearnWorlds, and mySidewalk.
  • Strong skills in analyzing and interpreting population health data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, deadline-driven, and highly organized.
  • Bachelor’s degree required (public health or related field preferred).

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Advanced expertise with data analysis tools and visualization platforms.
  • Master’s degree in public health or a related field.

 

LOCATION
This position is based at NALHD’s office in Lincoln, Nebraska. Primarily onsite work is expected unless prior approval for remote work is granted by NALHD leadership. In-state travel with occasional overnight stays is required.

 

TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time position, budgeted for 40 hours per week.
