Nebraska Cancer Specialists is the regional leader in cancer diagnosis, treatment and research. Nebraska Cancer Specialists is growing and expanding into central Nebraska, with clinics in Grand Island and Hastings. We are seeking FT patient focused individuals in our scheduling department. Patient Care Coordinator will schedule patient appointments, lab, therapies, scans and referrals.
Job functions include:
- Check in patients as they arrive for their appointment
- Schedule appointments by reviewing providers’ orders in the Q- including scans/consults/test/procedures either with our office or other medical facilities.
- Welcome and greet patients/families/visitors to clinic in a manner that is helpful and friendly.
- Handle phone calls in a timely manner and provide detailed messages
- Obtain new patient paperwork upon arrival and review to ensure complete, scan and attach forms into EMR.
- Provide a completed appointment reminder card with all information accurately printed on card.
- Communicate any day of schedule changes and other pertinent information to the MD team.
- Communicate with patient financial services regarding tests that are ordered requiring precertification.
- Check incoming faxes throughout the day and forward to appropriate employees.
- Ensure the lobby is clean and inviting.

Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Preference will be giving to candidates with experience in customer service and/or patient scheduling, reception, secretary work, electronic medical records, and multi-line phones.
- Ability to work at other locations as needed and for meetings
