Job Title: Donor Relations Specialist
Job Summary: The Donor Relations Specialist is critical for organizing and maintaining key elements of donor services and streamlining our stewardship processes. This position is responsible for managing donor database, overseeing donations and donor communication, and responding to donor inquiries in writing, on the phone, and by email, as well as processing donations. This position will also provide administrative support for Development & Communications team members where needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receive all donations and grant funds to the Nebraska Children’s Home Society, enter into EveryAction, produce and mail acknowledgments.
- Complete forms and receipt documents for bequests, memorials and matching gifts.
- Reconcile all receipts and bank deposits with the Accounting Department on a monthly basis.
- Assist other staff to ensure that donors and funders are properly credited and acknowledged for their contributions to the NCHS.
- Provide frontline support for the Development & Communications staff in answering phones, greeting guests, and other administrative support functions.
- Plan and perform donor research and provide reports to the Chief Financial & Development Officer, Major Gifts Officer, and/or other NCHS team members.
- Follow procedures for gift entry and acknowledgment consistent with IRS and Development & Communications Team regulations.
- Continually monitor and maintain donor database, EveryAction.
- Provide leadership in the creation and customization of lists and reports for individual areas (mailings, financial and Board reports, special events, etc.).
- Create and send the annual IRS tax letter.
- Prepare acknowledgment letters for the Chief Financial & Development Officer and the Chief Executive Officer.
- Special events: responsible for pulling lists for mailings/emails, maintaining registration list, onsite event check-in/checkout, physical set up and take down and post-event follow up.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Financial & Development Officer, Major Gift Officer, or other members of the Development & Communications Team.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum education and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 1 years experience preferred
2. Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of development database, EveryAction, or similar fundraising CRM.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite and using technology and software applications.
- Ability to solve problems and independently seek out solutions.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Ability to establish positive working relationships and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to all employees and community partners.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality relative to sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong collaboration skills.
3. Physical Demand:
- The ability to frequently communicate with NCHS team members and community partnerships.
- Able to inspect written communication and respond to directions and hazards.
- Able to move equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Occasionally ascends/descends stairs in the building and home structures.
- Able to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Able to remain in a stationary position and move about different work environments.
- This position requires access to reliable and safe transportation. A copy of insurance and registration will be required upon hiring.

- M-F 8:30-4:30 with occasional evening and weekend hours
- Site factors (work location, environment, travel, etc.):
- Work in office setting.
- Local travel will be required with state-wide travel on occasion for meetings.

Salary/Wage: $19.20- $22.50hr depending on education and experience
