The Nebraska Community Foundation (NCF) Assistant Director of Gift Planning helps individuals and families implement charitable gift plans for the benefit of NCF and its affiliated funds. In close partnership with the Senior Director of Gift Planning this position assists the organizations staff and 1,500 volunteer community leaders in the development and executing strategies to accomplish charitable gift planning goals to advance the mission of NCF.
Examples of Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with an active portfolio of donors for planned gifts and major current gift for NCF and its affiliated funds
Assist the Senior Director of Gift Planning with:
- Training and support of Affiliated Fund Development Coordinators and Fund Advisory Committee members in the development, implementation, and coordination strategies of charitable gift planning, major current gift fundraising, and stewardship activities.
- Provide philanthropic planning services to Professional Advisors, their clients and to NCF’s donor-driven affiliated funds.
- Maintain the organization’s donor cultivation and recognition strategies in coordination with other key NCF staff members
Contribute to NCF communications, marketing materials, educational materials and training programs for various NCF constituencies. This may include, but is not limited to:
- Monitor GiftLegacy website content, develop planned giving marketing pieces, articles and training materials
- Facilitate presentations, meetings and training sessions (in person and virtually)
Education, Skills and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum five years of experience in gift planning or major gift fundraising, or in related fields such as financial services, accounting, marketing or law
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate the NCF mission in a way that inspires current and prospective donors, affiliated fund leaders and others
- Self-starter and goal-driven to initiate donor visits and fundraising calls
- Active listener
- Ability to build and maintain trusting relationships
- Ability to work with and motivate staff, NCF Board members, affiliated fund leaders and other volunteers
- Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
- Organized and exhibit follow-through on goals and tasks

- The Nebraska Community Foundation is based in Lincoln, NE with remote employees located across the state. This position requires some travel within Nebraska, including overnight travel.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
