What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Instructor position at Nebraska Department of Education?
Due to a retirement, the Dundy County Stratton Public School District #117 is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Elementary Instructor for the2025-2026 school year. The Dundy County Stratton Public S.D. includes the communities of Benkelman (population 770), Haigler (population 140) and Stratton (population 300) and is situated in the Southwest corner of the state. The district is comprised of approximately 285 students located in a K-6 building and a 7-12 building. Currently, the district is working with the community to establish a new facility for the 2025-2026 school year that will provide childcare for the community as well as house the district Pre-Kindergarten program. Dundy County Stratton competes at the Class D level for NSAA activities/athletics and is a member of the Republican Plains Activity Conference (RPAC).
For the 2025-2026 school year, the district qualifies for the Nebraska Department of Education (NDE) Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) that provides free meals to all students in the district throughout the school year. Through local foundations, all graduating seniors are afforded scholarships of $4,000 per semester for four (04) years of post-secondary education. The district functions in a 1:1 environment with students utilizing laptops or iPads.
