The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a skilled Administrative Specialist with banking experience to join our Office of Procurement and Grants team. This is a key role that will support mid-level and senior management by providing advanced technical and administrative assistance in procurement and grant-related processes. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring the efficient processing, coordination, and tracking of program and administrative functions, all while ensuring compliance with state policies and statutes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and monitor payments in accordance with state statutes and policies.
- Assist staff in resolving payment errors to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support overall efficiency and accuracy of DHHS Procurement and Grants unit.

Compensation:
- Wage: $18.811 per hour
- Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Dress Attire: Business Casual
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in reviewing sub-award/contract invoices and supporting documentation. Experience in accounting, procurement and/or payment processing. Experience using OnBase, Contract Management Systems, and/or JD Edwards Enterprise One.
- Proven experience in banking, financial operations, or similar administrative roles
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
