Job Description

The State of Nebraska, Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a full-time Administrative Specialist at the Omaha ANDI Center. The hours of this position are 8am-5pm.

Application management and document imaging are the first step in providing accurate and timely benefits to Nebraska families needing assistance. It is essential these activities are done accurately and timely. The ANDI Center Operations include use of office equipment including copier, fax machine, mail openers, mail sorters, computer, and scanning/imaging equipment. ANDI Center staff prepare documents for imaging; open and sort mail, review documents for completeness, scan documents using imaging equipment, inspect/verify image quality and index documents using Win Client File Director, shared e-mail & e-fax accounts and NFOCUS and assist with document storage and destruction. ANDI Center staff also process electronic and paper Economic Assistance and Medicaid applications received; complete computer systems inquiry using the NFOCUS computer system, identify and enter client information assisting in client records maintenance, prepare and send correspondences to applicants, and contact clients during regular business hours as necessary to obtain information to process an application.

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.

The Successful ANDI Center Supervisor Candidate Will

  • Provide daily supervision to ANDI Center Office Specialists in the completion of the above listed duties.
  • Manage and prioritize all work tasks and monitoring of staff effectively
  • Train and coach staff to successfully perform Application Management and Document Imaging functions to support the Eligibility Operations Teams
  • Collect, analyze and report team performance data to ensure work is completed accurately, timely, and in accordance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Work with other supervisors, ANDI Center Staff and ANDI Center Manager to improve processes and efficiencies of ANDI Center functions.
