JOB DUTIES:
This position serves as subject matter expert for network infrastructure and video conference solutions and acts as the liaison between the NDOT Users and Service Providers, including Nebraska OCIO.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of network infrastructure and video conferencing solutions across the organization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, IT specialists, and external vendors, to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
- Provide technical guidance and support for the deployment of state-of-the-art communication technologies.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Strong technical background in network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and video conferencing systems.
- Expertise in project management within a technical environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and communication issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Daily duties include:
- Act as Project Manager for Installation and life-cycle management of network infrastructure and video conferencing hardware
- Coordinate project and maintenance activities between inter-agency service teams.
- Document policies, standards, and operating procedures necessary for providing security and continuity of service.
- Develop and Maintain User support documents
- Provide advanced investigation, research, and troubleshooting to resolve reported system malfunctions and document findings.
- Communicate progress and outcomes with teammates and stakeholders using a variety of methods.
- Direct work of interns involved in the above work.
- Collaborate with other staff to provide basic support for team duties, including Voice Service and Collaboration Software support.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Post-high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two years of increasingly responsible experience in general IT business processes, network infrastructure, or video conference support.
Experience with Microsoft Visio, Sharepoint, Cisco Webex or Microsoft Teams, and ticketing software (Service Portal).
Other:
Valid driver’s license or ability to provide independent transportation.
Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Strong technical background in network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and video conferencing systems.
Expertise in project management within a technical environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality solutions on time and within budget.
Strong communication, analysis, problem-solving, and testing skills; can translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and communication issues efficiently.
