$16.708 /hour PLUS $3/hour differential for every hour worked during CNA training class, THEN...* $20.142/hour PLUS $3/hour differential for every hour worked once certified.... $23.142/HR! Full-Time Positions Evenings & Nights Available.

Minimum Qualifications:
Staff Care Technician I: Must be at least 18 years of age.
Staff Care Technician II: Must be at least 18 years of age, completed a state approved 76-hour nurse aide training course and competency evaluation program, and be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry.
Other: Any Applicant accepting this position is required to attend 100% (in person) of the Nurse Aide Training Class. Any absences will result in Termination. The class will be in session June 11th to 25th, 2025 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. M-F.
The Western Nebraska Veterans' Home is gearing up for our next Nurse Aide Training Class! If you are passionate about caring for others and you're looking to further your career, you have come to the right place! Incumbents for this position will be understaffed as a Staff Care Technician I while in training. Once the certification process is successfully completed they will be transitioned to Staff Care Technician II.
The training course will begin on Wednesday, June 11th and will run through Wednesday, June 25th, 2025. New Hire Orientation will take place on Monday, June 9th and Tuesday, June 10th, 2025. The training class and NEO will be daily, Monday - Friday (8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and testing for certification will follow successful completion of the training course. *No Class on June 19th
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Skill in: active listening, and communicating clearly with others. Ability to: learn the principles and processes for providing customer and personal services; attend and complete nurse aide classroom training courses; complete courses and competency evaluations necessary to be listed on the Nebraska Nurse Aide Registry and the Nebraska Medication Aide Registry; complete written and physical nurse aide tasks; communicate information, count accurately and record numerical and alphabetical data; observe, recognize, report on physical status; lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and push/pull up to 75 lbs. on a daily basis; frequently bend at the waist and neck, frequently twist at the waist, and walk or stand up to 90% of the shift; interact with members and others in a positive manner and be flexible to meet changing demands of the job; use empathy in dealing with others.
