Job Summary

Address: 450 E 23rd St. - Fremont, NE
Work Schedule: Mon - Fri 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., rotating weekends (one Sat or Sun per month), no holidays.
Responsible for providing therapy services to individuals and their families independently and as a part of the multidisciplinary team. Completes Psychosocial Assessments, facilitating family therapy, group therapy and individual therapy as indicated. Develops, implements, and reviews treatment plans. Provides therapy services and care coordination to individuals and their families across the spectrum of mental health conditions. All activities of the Behavioral Health Therapist shall be in accordance with State and Federal standards and Medical Staff Bylaws pertaining to Allied Health Professionals. Obtains and maintains a Scope of Practice /Collaborative Practice Agreement with a state licensed physician on active medical staff at Methodist Fremont Health.

Treatment and Therapeutic Services
- Discusses with individual patients their responses to events and interactions between individual appointments/ groups.
- Completes psychosocial assessments.
- Participates in treatment planning for each patient; works cooperatively as a member of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Diagnose and develop treatment plans independently and in coordination with multidisciplinary treatment team.
- Implements and reviews Treatment Plans with patients.
- Provides treatment coordination with assigned patients.
- Provides individual, group, and family therapy to patients and family members as indicated when possible.
- Documents patient’s group participation, individual and/or family therapy on day of occurrence in medical record.
- Completes appropriate billing paperwork for reimbursement of services provided.
- Maintains confidentiality of records relating to protected health information.
- Develops lectures and special focus topics for program enhancement as requested.
- Participates in in-service training and team meetings.
- Works together with other departments when they need help in program development or other issues related to Behavioral Health.
- Develops and maintains working relationships between Behavioral Health and other hospital departments and outside community agencies.
- Orients new staff members to therapist role within Behavioral Health.
- Keeps Director of Behavioral Health informed of patient needs and community issues.
- Pursues continuing age related competency per patient population.
- Effectively utilizes knowledge of age appropriate developmental needs and abilities in the assessment, treatment and education of patients and families.
- Represents the Behavioral Health Service Line in a positive manner in the clinic and within the community.
- Participates in the marketing effort for Behavioral Health through internal and external activities.
- Attends and participates in those continuing education and staff development activities required and/or necessary for own continued growth and professional development.
- Maintains an accurate record of in-service/staff development attendance.
- Overall work performance is dedicated to meeting and exceeding the performance improvement standards for the department.
- Participates in department performance improvement program and projects.
- Is vigilant to the day to day business fluctuations and responds promptly to re-prioritized assignments to fit the need.
- Performs routine assignments independently.
- Seeks direction when indicated for unusual or non-routine duties.
- Advises appropriate personnel (i.e., Supervisor) of situations requiring administrative, medical or technical expertise and follow-up.
- Manages time effectively. Completes all assignments within the allotted time frame. Establishes priorities for using time to the best advantage.
- Performs job duties in a manner consistent with organization and departmental safety policies and procedures.
- Completes departmental safety requirements, I.e., annual competencies, departmental in-services, etc., on an annual basis.

Education
- Master's degree with a mental health therapy focus from a regionally accredited program of higher education and includes graduate course work in specific areas required.
- Master's degree (MSW) in Social Work preferred.
- Licensure as a Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP) required.
- Certified Social Worker (CSW) and or Provisional/Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (PLADC/LADC) preferred.
- Master Social Worker (MSW) license preferred.
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in clinical therapeutic environment or other relevant experience required.
- Ability to effectively plan and implement therapeutic interventions in a multi-disciplinary setting with appropriate supervision.
- Skill in the use of personal computer and standard software (Microsoft and office equipment).
- Knowledge of the mental health needs of pediatric, adult, geriatric populations, and drug and alcohol treatment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, physicians, patients and community resource representatives.
Physical
- Continuously stand, walk or lift, handle, carry material or equipment of moderate weight. (up to 50 pounds)
- Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise.
- OSHA Category 1: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, tissues, and other potentially infectious materials.
- Potential for physically acting out patients and health related communicable diseases.
