Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of appointment schedulers to ensure smooth and effective scheduling operations.
- Oversee the scheduling of appointments for clients, patients, or team members, ensuring that schedules are filled in a timely and efficient manner.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of appointment schedulers to improve their skills and productivity.
- Schedule patient appointments. Relay necessary messages to staff.
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information and update in the medical record as needed.
- Maintain and update current information on physicians’ schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly.
- Answer questions regarding patient appointments.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA Guidelines.
- Attend meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting preferred.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating a team.
- Experience in appointment scheduling, administrative support, or customer service, with at least one year in a leadership role.
- Knowledge of clinic operating policies.
- Ability to effectively examine documents for accuracy and completeness
- Attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A team-player mentality and a willingness to provide support for co-workers
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task while working in a fast pace environment
