Job Summary
Coach curriculum in recreational classes to ages 7 and older including teens and adults. Coaching occurs in hour-long classes with opportunities including birthday parties, events, and summer camp. All training is provided! No experience necessary!
Responsibilities & Duties
- Coaching weekly classes
- Supervising open gyms
- Coaching special events (including open houses, birthday parties, summer camp competitions, annual Halloween party, etc.)
- Help share basic cleaning duties
- Able to demonstrate basic skills
Performance Expectations
- Shows excitement to coach through learning and self-development
- Resolves and manages conflict disruptions to classes
- Applies risk management and safety in potentially dangerous settings and environments during classes
- Maintains a positive attitude and collaborates well with the team accurately
- Monitors and mitigates safety concerns, facilitates class learning, and engages students
- Develop and implement lesson plans that foster growth and development for children
- Learn, teach, and demonstrate basic skills that are adaptable to different student capabilities
- Maintain a positive, empathetic, and self-aware presence to students, staff, and clients in a professional manner
Qualifications & Skills
- Willingness to learn and develop as a coach / athlete
- Experience with sports or a similar background I.e. soccer, gymnastics, climbing, martial arts, etc.) OR experience in a camp environment.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a teaching, coaching, or supervising position.
- First Aid certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Positive, professional attitude. Empathy and problem-solving skills.
- Applicants are required to be a minimum 16 years of age.
- High school graduate (or equivalent) required, college preferred.
- Bonus points for related fields of study/experience. Experience is helpful, but not necessary. We train!
