Position:              Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Company:           ruralMED Management Resources

Reports To:         Board of Directors for ruralMED Management Resources

Status:                 Full-Time Salary Exempt

 

Position Summary:

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at ruralMED Management Resources is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and operational success of the company. The experienced CEO must be a thoughtful and inspiring leader with a compelling vision for the rural health care landscape. Developing business strategies, building and fostering client relationships while being the innovative driver for our rural health care partners, shapes the foundation of this role. The CEO also serves as the Executive Director for the ruralMED Health Cooperative, a for-profit limited cooperative association comprised of independent Nebraska Critical Access Hospitals. The position is located in Nebraska.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement effective long-term business goals and plans aligning with industry trends and the needs of rural healthcare
  • Business Development: Identify and secure new opportunities and partnerships expanding the reach of ruralMED’s service lines and cooperative
  • Team Leadership: Lead and set the pace for a high performing leadership team offering communicative and tailored accompaniment
  • Financial Oversight: High quality decision-making to advance business growth, increase profits as well as offering solutions and/or improvements
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee daily operations while optimizing internal processes and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with rural health care organizations, clients, and stakeholders
  • Advocacy and Innovation: Champion unique solutions tailored for rural health care clients in the critical access hospital environment

 

Requirements:

  • Proven executive leadership
  • Established experience in rural healthcare
  • Considerable understanding of critical access hospital framework
  • Dexterity to lead a cooperative and its members
  • Entrepreneurial mindset alongside risk assessment and opportunity recognition
  • Robust understanding of finance and performance management principles
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and public speaking skills
  • Analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with diverse business functions such as marketing, public relations, finance, etc
  • Extensive knowledge of management best practices

This position operates in a fast-paced professional office environment. Expectations for a high level of activity, frequent interruptions, and multiple competing demands.  Work continues beyond normal office hours.  Some travel is expected.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually in a temperature-controlled environment.  The noise level in the work environment is usually mild to moderate.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business and/or Healthcare related field is required
    • Master’s Degree is preferred
  • 3 years of senior management or executive level position experience
  • Experience working directly with or reporting to a Board of Directors is preferred
