Nature of Work
Peru State College seeks highly motivated and student-centered candidate for the position of Career Services Specialist to oversee and administer the four-year career plan for students. This career plan will, through programs, services, and collaborative partnerships with campus stakeholders, provide career readiness and mapping out career goals from year one to graduation. The CSS will develop and maintain a career plan for students that encourages career exploration and development through their academic journey. Additionally, the CSS will provide leadership and support for the Career Scholars program. Some of the main responsibilities for this position include providing career and professional support to students and graduates in all aspects of their job search; establish effective relationships with faculty and staff and be the primary contact with academic schools for Career Services support; provide leadership for the students in the Career Scholars Program. This support would include but not limited: pre-enrollment guidance, workshops and skill development activities, and all pieces of the job search process; advise and counsel students and alumni concerning employment opportunities; work with employers to recruit students and alumni; provide individual and class presentations to encourage, support, and educate students on career skills; coordinates career related workshops, programs, and presentations; maintains on-line job posting board; seek out, promote, and effectively complete career advising and career exploration appointments. Additionally, the CSS will leverage institutional data to drive decision making about services offered to students and conduct relevant assessment for departmental needs and student success.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling or related field
- Two years of related experience
