What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Volleyball Coach position at Nebraska State College System?
Nature of Work
Duties include, but are not limited to management and development of all aspects of a collegiate women’s volleyball program: coaching, recruiting, scouting, scheduling, budget and scholarship management, supervision of assistant/student coaches, academic monitoring, development of team policies and procedures, development and implementation of off-season conditioning, knowledge of and adherence to college, conference, and NAIA rules and regulations, as well as marketing and fund-raising for the program.
Examples of Work Performed
1. Recruiting and scouting and work with Admissions staff in student athlete recruiting efforts
2. Scheduling of practice times and facilities in conjunction with Athletic Director to develop the team’s greatest potential
3. Adherence to department budget and scholarship management
4. Supervision of assistant and student coaches and all phases of team in the program
5. Academic monitoring
6. Develop and implement team policies and procedures
7. Off-season conditioning
8. Communication and enforcement of College, conference and NAIA rules and regulations to team as well as adherence to rules/regulations in use of state-owned vehicles
9. Monitor eligibility program, and complete requisite eligibility paperwork
10. Fundraising for program
11. Ensure student athletes have complete eligibility forms and physical forms; ensure proof of insurance, parent consent forms and medical history forms for student athletes are current
12. Make arrangements and ensure insurance requirements are in place for team trips
13. Other duties as assigned

3. Provide reports and information as requested to Athletic Director and Campus administration
4. Formulate objectives for upcoming season
5. Evaluate current/past season performance

Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree required.
Proven managerial and fiscal skills required.
Sensitivity to diversity and equity issues also required.

Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree strongly preferred. Previous coaching experience at the college and/or high school level; previous playing experience helpful. An ability to work in an environment where the education, welfare, and graduation of student-athletes receive primary emphasis. Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and develop a culture of excellence. Must have valid driver’s license and follow all rules and regulations of the College, NAIA, and Heart of America Athletic Conference.
