Transportation Manager

Major Food Distributor located in Hunts Point Cooperative Market in the Bronx is looking for a Full-Time Transportation Manager. The applicant for this position must be experienced, a team player, with demonstrated ability to motivate staff and successfully promote change through leadership.

• Ensure that all routes are running on time and frequently check in with Drivers to see if assistance is needed
• Report to Customer Service any delays in delivery
• Ensure that all pickups are assigned, and Drivers are aware of completing backhauls when asked
• Communicate issues to management for timely resolution
• Cross train with other supervisors to ensure coverage in all areas
• Ensuring truck maintenance at the end of each shift
• Ensure all Drivers are in compliance with the Nebraskaland uniform requirements
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations (Hours of service)
• Create and distribute On-Time reports
• Conduct a Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Inspection on vehicles daily

Work Environment:

• Must be willing to work occasional on Saturdays

Minimum Experience and Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year of relevant experience
• Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish) a plus
• High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
• Ability to work under pressure, multi-task and think outside of the box to find quick resolutions
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, outlook)
• Candidate must be available to work overtime hours, if necessary.

Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

• Experience with Retalix, Extend Data, GPS Tracking system a plus

• Regular attendance and punctuality
