NEC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tiger Team Tower Technician Lead to oversee a specialized team responsible for critical telecommunications tower projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and upgrading wireless infrastructure while ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The ideal candidate is an experienced tower technician with strong leadership abilities and a problem-solving mindset to manage high-priority deployments and emergency response situations.
This position may be eligible for a $1,500 sign on bonus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a Tiger Team of tower technicians, ensuring quality and efficiency in all operations.
- Perform complex troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades on cellular and broadcast towers.
- Coordinate and execute emergency response efforts for network outages and infrastructure failures.
- Ensure strict compliance with industry regulations, safety standards (OSHA, ANSI, FCC), and company protocols.
- Train and mentor team members to enhance technical skills and safety awareness.
- Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and provide detailed reports on project progress.
- Collaborate with network engineers, project managers, and clients to meet project objectives.

Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2-3 years in tower climbing, RF installation, or telecommunications maintenance.
- Certifications:
- OSHA 10/30
- CPR/First Aid
- Competent Climber/Rescue Certification
- Anritsu/PIM testing certification (preferred)
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of RF systems, fiber optics, and electrical components.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting network equipment from major carriers (Ericsson, Nokia, etc.).
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and site plans.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to climb and work at heights exceeding 200 feet.
- Physically fit to carry equipment, tools, and work in extreme weather conditions.
- Leadership & Problem-Solving:
- Experience leading teams in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to train junior technicians.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and emergency call-outs.
