As a Food Runner at our family entertainment center, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the
timely and accurate delivery of food orders to guests. Your attention to detail, efficiency, and
teamwork will contribute to enhancing the overall dining experience and satisfaction of our
visitors. This job description outlines the primary responsibilities and qualifications required for
the position.
Responsibilities:
1. Order Coordination:
- Receive food orders from the kitchen and verify accuracy and completeness.
- Organize orders based on table numbers or customer names for efficient delivery.
2. Timely Delivery:
- Deliver food orders to guests' tables promptly and with careful handling to maintain
presentation.
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to ensure orders are served at the correct
temperature.
3. Order Accuracy:
- Double-check orders to ensure they match the guest's preferences and any special requests.
- Notify servers or kitchen staff of any discrepancies.
4. Table Setup and Service:
- Assist in setting up tables with necessary utensils, condiments, and napkins before food
delivery.
- Provide guests with additional items they may need during their meal.
5. Guest Interaction:
- Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner during food delivery.
- Respond to any questions or requests with courtesy and efficiency.
6. Communication:
- Maintain effective communication with servers, kitchen staff, and management regarding
order status and any issues.
7. Cleanliness and Organization:
- Ensure that the food delivery area is clean and well-organized.
- Assist in keeping the dining area tidy and free from clutter.
8. Upselling and Promotion:
- Promote specials, add-ons, or additional menu items as appropriate during food delivery.
9. Health and Safety:
- Adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines when handling and delivering food orders.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to the relevant personnel.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a food runner, server assistant, or in a similar role, preferably in a
restaurant or hospitality setting.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling food orders.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with guests and fellow staff members.
- Team player with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused attitude with a commitment to providing a positive guest experience.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry trays of food.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by
the operational needs of the family entertainment center.
