General Description:

At Needham Pediatrics, we have made behavioral health an integral part of our primary care services. Our primary care providers’ work hand in hand with our team of behavioral health clinicians, to help the children and families we care for.

The successful candidate will join our clinical provider team to deliver fully integrated behavioral health services to our patients. Working within our family-centered medical home, and will be responsible for the clinical, operational, and strategic aspects of the behavioral health program at Needham Pediatrics. The Behavioral Health Manager will ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, facilitate patient assessments, and lead a team of dedicated professionals in providing high-quality patient care.

This role provides significant opportunities to participate in high quality, CE-accredited, clinical education, through our partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital, and the Pediatric Physicians’ Organization at Children’s, at no cost.

Must be fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 and Influenza

Summary of Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the Behavioral Health department, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
  • Provide leadership and oversight, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment for staff and patients.
  • Offer consultative support to primary care providers and clinical staff on behavioral health concerns.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance department efficiency and patient outcomes.
  • Support and oversee staff training to ensure best practices in behavioral health care.
  • Conduct real-time initial consultations and scheduled follow-ups as needed.
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions to help children and families achieve targeted behavioral health goals.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Actively participate in team meetings and professional development initiatives that support the practice’s integrated health care model.
  • Assist in identifying at-risk patients and provide preventive interventions to support their well-being.
  • Collaborate with the primary care team to develop and enhance care management processes, including guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education.
  • Continuously assess and improve the practice’s integration efforts, identifying challenges and recommending solutions.
  • Must be open to telemedicine as part of patient care delivery.

Required and Preferred Experience:

  • A Doctoral or Master’s Degree in a mental health field, from an accredited graduate program, and a license for independent practice in Massachusetts (Licensed Psychologist, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT) is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families is required.
  • Experience with behavioral therapy, cognitive therapy, motivational interviewing, and brief, solution-focused interventions is highly desirable.
  • Candidates should have a proven record of collaborative service delivery, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, and the flexibility and adaptability required to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented, busy medical practice.
  • Experience in pediatric primary care or other pediatric medical settings is preferred.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Minimum 4days/Week
  • 35 hours per week
