Summary: The Superintendent provides on-site coordination for all phases of construction, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensures that quality expectations are met and work is proceeding on schedule. The Superintendent is responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Planning and executing the field work, including scheduling and directing subcontractors on the jobsite
  • Maintaining all on-site records required by city, county or utility authorities
  • Responsible for the subcontractor's use of the certified layout and dimensional control of the structure
  • Monitoring the completed work for compliance with the contract drawings and specifications
  • Coordinating the quality control program for the project
  • Working with the Project Manager and General Superintendent during the pre-construction phase of the project
  • Management of safety OSHA compliant safety protocol and practices on site
  • Ability to make sure details and design match recommendations of the Soils Report and local conditions
  • Ability to utilize computer software (email); communicate and collaborate with your project team
  • Closeout process (zero punchlist, deficient work list, job walks, commissioning)
  • Daily logs, conversation follow-up and record keeping; Incident Analysis
  • Knowledge of correctly coding expenses & etime coding.
  • Newforma - Outlook emails moved regularly
  • Newforma Capture (progress photos)
  • P Drive filing in consistent manner. Training on the use of P drive and where to save (everyone should process in the same way)
  • Participate in Design Tollgates and Project Reviews
  • Raken (Daily Logs) - the importance of 'why' date/time stamp must be on target
  • Scanning Files in a consistent manner (returning hard copies to Daphne)
  • Technically competent to identify and resolve construction breakdowns
  • Use experience to handle most difficult projects
  • Attend and contribute to weekly owner and project management meetings (schedule and safety updates)
  • Complete "Field Reports" every 2 weeks (this is when your master schedule should be updated)
  • Create 2 Week Look Ahead to effectively manage jobsite foreman meetings
  • Create and update Master Schedule in MS Project
  • Facilitate coordination with Architects, PM's, and Subcontractors
  • Finish the project on time and under budget together with the Project Team members through gathering design and project information so as not to interrupt job construction flow
  • Decision-making regarding the job costs and scheduling WITH the Project Team members
  • Provide input to PM for buy-out
  • Review contracts, exhibits and specifications to find gaps between subcontractors
  • Review financial performance of the job with the PM
  • Understand budget considerations and manage effectively to budget; review PCR monthly
  • Understanding, aligning and managing to the project construction budget as it pertains to labor, materials and equipment
  • Effective safety program utilization and scheduling safety site visits with Safety Coordinator
  • Ensure subcontractor employees attend site safety orientations
  • Maintain required competency status / certificates
  • Manage on site daily safety walks and training
  • Overall Housekeeping
  • SOWSC - ability to review and approve with meaningful input
  • Training and ability to process Workers Compensation from beginning to end
  • Attend company technical training seminars
  • Effectively use design resources
  • Participate in Company Meetings
  • Respond to office requests in a timely manner
  • Use TNC processes to improve communication with other disciplines of the company
  • Jobsite quality control

  • Utilize tollgates to ensure details being created are in line with quality expectations

Qualifications:
  • 10 years construction supervision experience
  • 5 years medical construction supervision experience
  • Must have the ability to relocate for 12 ? 18 month periods
