Purchasing Agent—HVAC / Plumbing experience preferred! We would love to find someone with HVAC or Plumbing TRADE experience and familiarity with our Parts, Materials, Vendors, and Suppliers!
Additionally : Experience in Inventory Management of Construction materials, Automotive or Mechanical parts is helpful!
Procurement, Warehouse, Inventory & Vendor Management experience required.

This role you will be sitting onsite at our Lancaster, PA location
The buyer position is critical to the growth and success of LEN THE PLUMBER HEATING & AIR!! As an LTP Purchasing Agent, you will work with the Warehouse and operations team to supervise and coordinate the buying of HVAC / Plumbing products, materials, and services professionally. Your responsibilities also include monitoring purchasing expenses, vendor pricing, parts expediting, and keeping track of accounts / contracts.
Essential Job Functions :
- Execute sourcing of materials to meet cost, timing and quality objectives.
- Partner with business unit leaders and provide excellent service in support of company goals.
- Maintenance of vendor price lists and preferred supplier relationships
- Vendor price alignment with company’s profit target
- Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtaining recommendations from suppliers for substitute items; obtaining approval from requisitioning department.
- Verify purchase orders by comparing items requested to take-off sheets; clarifying unclear items; and recommending alternatives.
- Verify vendor acknowledgements and ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain good and positive working relationships with distributors, suppliers, and internal departments.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve quantity, quality, and supply issues in a timely and efficient manner.
- Review and resolve back orders, warranty parts and returns.
