Overview
NeGail’s Restaurant & Lounge is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our high-end dining and brunch establishment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food and beverage industry, with experience in upscale casual or fine dining settings. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a commitment to outstanding customer service, and a thorough understanding of food safety, operational management, and hospitality excellence. As General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that our team delivers an unparalleled dining experience while maintaining efficiency and profitability. The General Manager will oversee the front of house and bar operations and will report directly to the owner.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Oversee staff training and development programs to enhance team performance and customer service excellence.
- Implement food safety and sanitation protocols to ensure compliance with local and state health regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage food and beverage ordering, and control costs to optimize profitability.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages teamwork, engagement, and retention.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally to maintain high levels of guest satisfaction.
- Develop and execute strategies for catering services and private dining events to expand business opportunities.
- Supervise daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with the executive chef to create seasonal menu offerings and beverage pairings.
- Monitor financial performance, including sales, labor costs, and profitability, making adjustments as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, restaurant regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent customer service skills with a passion for creating a top-tier guest experience.
- Proven experience in food and beverage management, preferably in an upscale dining environment.
- Ability to effectively train and mentor staff in hospitality and service excellence.
- Experience in catering and private event management is a plus.
- Previous experience as a General Manager, Assistant Manager, or in a supervisory role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with staff, vendors, and customers.
- Proficiency in restaurant management software, point-of-sale systems, and financial reporting tools.
