The Negaunee Public Schools Board of Education is seeking a Superintendent to begin work on July 1, 2025.
Negaunee is in Marquette County in the central portion of the beautiful Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The Negaunee area has many recreational opportunities and is located only a few miles from Lake Superior. The district serves approximately 1,580 students in the Mini Miners Learning Center preschool, Lakeview Elementary School, Negaunee Middle School and Negaunee High School with a budget of $ million. In August 2020, the community supported a Bond Proposal for extensive renovations in 31 elementary classrooms, major improvements in building infrastructures, and the modernization of the NMS and NHS media centers. Additionally, revenue from the Bond Proposal helped with the construction of a one-of-a-kind 20,000 square foot indoor practice facility near the Negaunee Miners Stadium.
The NPS Board of Education seeks a Superintendent who will be a strong educational leader with sound financial management skills, while also demonstrating effective communication to staff and the community. The Superintendent will actively work with the Board and community to set and reach goals and be a solution-oriented administrator. The Superintendent role requires a leader who is approachable, honest, ethical, and committed to the values and mission of Negaunee Public Schools.
Salary and Contract Information
The Board will offer a comprehensive, multi-year contract. Compensation will be commensurate with experience of the successful candidate and requirements of the position. A preliminary salary range of $117,000 to $143,000 has been established.
