What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pathways to Equity Coordinator position at Nehalem Bay Health Center and Pharmacy?
Nehalem Bay Health Center and Pharmacy, located on the beautiful North Oregon coast, seeks a Coordinator for an exciting new program. This position will lead the development and implementation of the Pathways to Equity, a new initiative to create career pathways in healthcare for individuals in the following priority populations in the North Oregon coast: LatinX, Rural, and LGBTQ .
Duties:
- Serves as the Coordinator of the Pathways to Equity program.
- Acts as the primary liaison between the Pathways to Equity program and community resource and development organizations serving the priority populations on the North Oregon coast.
- Develops and employs effective outreach strategies to help connect community members in the priority populations to the career pathways created through Pathways to Equity.
- Works under the leadership of the Director of Human Resources to:
--Create an apprenticeship-to-permanent employment program at NBHCP focused on priority populations and bilingual candidates.
--Create paid internships in healthcare positions at NBHCP, with emphasis on recruiting individuals in communities of color, rural communities, and the LGBTQ community.
--Create scholarships for local students in priority populations to attend Medical Assisting, Nursing, Pharmacy Technician and Billing/Coding Specialist programs at educations institutions on the North Oregon coast.
- Identifies grant-funded support services such as childcare and transportation needed by individuals in the community to participate in the Pathways to Equity program and works with the Chief Financial Officer/Controller and Director of Human Resources to provide stipends to program participants.
- Works with program participants to create individualized plans for success and accessing needed support services.
- Works with the Director of Human Resources, Outreach Team, and other NBHCP staff to develop and facilitate a Creating Equitable Career Pathways in Healthcare training for local healthcare organizations that focuses on priority populations.
- Collects and reports participant and services provided data, performance reports, and all other reporting required by the Future Ready Oregon grant agreement.
- Tracks spending under the grant and submit invoices necessary for reimbursement of expenses to the State of Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission.
- Provides weekly updates on project milestones to the CEO, Director of Human Resources, and Chief Financial Officer and updates as requested by the CEO at monthly Board of Director meetings.
- Following conclusion of the grant project, participates in an after-action review of success and challenges.

Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience providing outreach to the priority populations served by the Pathways to Equity grant: Latinx, Rural, and LGBTQ .
- Experience working in a community organization preferred.
- Project and budget management preferred.
- Bilingual/Bicultural (fluent in Spanish and English).
- Valid Oregon Driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements:

- Manual dexterity when inputting computer information.
- Exposure to normal noise, temperature, and dust and fume levels.
