About the Position
As a Senior Electrical Designer in the BESS group, you will be responsible for working with multi-disciplinary teams to primarily perform utility-scale solar BESS engineering design in a manner that provides the client with a quality deliverable that is on time and within budget.
Salary Range: $40.00 - $52.00 / hour
The salary range above is based upon the Denver, Colorado labor market.
Essential Responsibilities
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to perform electrical engineering design for utility-scale BESS projects.
- Perform detailed design and prepare drawings per project & client requirements.
- Specify and/or review equipment and components required for BESS electrical systems.
- Provide support during procurement, construction and commissioning phases of BESS projects.
- Ensure that all projects adhere to relevant industry standards, regulations, codes and best-practices.
- Conduct technical reviews of BESS projects to ensure quality deliverables are produced.
- Support BESS team by producing department standards and best-practices.
- Participate in project meetings and provide regular progress reports to stakeholders.
- Maintains high ethical and professional standards within the overall organization.
- Engaged in lifelong learning to maintain knowledge of contemporary issues.
- Attend safety training and follow safety rules and guidelines.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Must Have
- Education: Degree in electrical engineering technology or related experience preferred.
- Experience: 5 years of engineering design or other relevant experience.
- Physical design experience required.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD required.
- Strong knowledge of electrical power systems required.
- Possesses effective written and oral communications skills.
- Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings.
- Must possess strong technical verbal and technical writing skills and be able to read technical literature and engineering plans.
- Must demonstrate two-way communication to effectively work with internal staff and external clients.
- A strong written and verbal command of the English language.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of renewable energy, and battery storage systems preferred.
