This position is responsible for assisting in creating a culture of awareness and safety through effective communication, training, investigation, and policy.
Essential Functions:
- Safety Policy Development and Implementation:
- Create and maintain comprehensive electrical safety policies and procedures aligned with industry standards and OSHA regulations.
- Develop site-specific safety plans for each electrical construction project.
- Communicate safety policies clearly to all project personnel including subcontractors.
- Site Inspections and Hazard Identification:
- Regularly conduct thorough safety inspections of electrical work areas, identifying potential hazards like exposed wires, improper grounding, and unsafe equipment.
- Assess work practices and procedures to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
- Document findings from inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
- Training and Education:
- Deliver comprehensive electrical safety training programs for all workers involved in electrical construction, including proper use of PPE, lockout/tagout procedures, and emergency response.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety meetings to reinforce safety awareness and best practices.
- Incident Investigation and Reporting:
- Promptly investigate all electrical-related incidents, near misses, and accidents.
- Analyze root causes of incidents and implement preventive measures to avoid future occurrences.
- Maintain accurate records of all safety incidents and reports.
- Compliance Management:
- Stay updated on all applicable electrical safety regulations and standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant regulatory bodies.
- Monitor and address any non-compliance issues promptly.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning.
- Provide safety guidance and support to crews on the job site.
- Communicate safety concerns effectively to management and take necessary corrective actions.
Key Requirements:
- Strong understanding of electrical safety codes and regulations (NEC-NFPA70E).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience in electrical construction safety management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and interact with workers at all levels.
- Ability to conduct thorough safety inspections and investigations.
- Strong analytical skills to identify root causes of incidents and implement preventative measures.
- Strong understanding of OSHA standards

· Monday to Friday, and situationally on-call for customer upgrades
