What are the responsibilities and job description for the Route Driver position at NEIE Medical Waste Services LLC?
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer service focused Route Driver. The current position has the individual working 5 days a week Monday thru Friday (day shift).
Daily work shift start and end times will vary depending upon route. Most routes M-F are 7-12 hour shifts. Overtime is expected.
You will be collecting medical waste containers from our customer locations and delivering high level customer service daily. This is a physical role involving heavy lifting; loading and unloading heavy transporters filled with our medical device this is not an over the road position.
Position Purpose:
Responsible for servicing assigned LQ (Large Quantity) and SQ (Small Quantity) accounts in the most professional way, ensuring that customers' needs are met on a continual basis. Provides the highest level of customer service possible at all times. Key Job Activities:
1) Work on assigned transportation routes utilizing a box truck ensuring customers’ waste is picked up in a timely and accurate manner.
- Pick up and transport waste safely according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
- Plans daily schedule based on customers’ needs by reviewing daily paperwork, e.g., manifest, route sheets, previous VCR, etc. provided by the Transportation Manager/Supervisor or Dispatcher.
- May prepare and load trucks to service select accounts for the delay ensuring enough supplies are added.
- Pick up specified waste from each customer site scheduled for the day. Ensures that customers have packaged and prepared the waste according to all federal, state, and local rules and regulations before transporting.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts on a daily basis, communicating any issues your supervisor for resolution. This includes, but is not limited to re-routes, adjustments in container sizes, training, etc.
- Ensures waste, supplies, and material handling equipment are secured prior to operating vehicle on public highway.
- Class B license with a clean driving record (preferred by not required) and valid DOT medical card
- Six months of driving experience with box trucks a plus.
- A can-do attitude and a willingness to work in a flexible environment.
- Operate vehicles in a safe manner (box truck)
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
- Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
- On time delivery practices!
Successful candidate will have varied hours based upon daily route. Overtime may be required, vacation and sick time, and benefits

- No moving violations in last 36 months
- No collisions, incidents, or accidents in last 36 months
- No DUI, DWI, or moving violations involving drugs or alcohol in the last 10 years
- Stable work history
- DOT Medical Card
