Summary:
The Comptroller Supports the CFO in all aspects of department operations. Provides direction, leadership, and support to the accounting team. Maintains, prepares, inspects, and delivers regular financial reports. Upholds standards of quality and adherence to all regulations
Responsibilities:
Manages personnel in the functional areas of all fiscal operations.
Carries out managerial responsibility in accordance with company policies, procedures and applicable laws.
Engages with executive management to get an accurate detail of departmental needs and ensure said needs are carried out accordingly.
Develops, and analyzes departmental internal controls and reports any inaccuracies to senior management.
Performs technical financial and accounting functions.
Performs complex account reconciliations.
Assists with annual budget preparation.
Prepares analytical financial and statistical reports.
Coordinates activities of the independent annual audit.
Assists in selecting new personnel. Provides training and instructions. Plans, coordinates, schedules, assigns and reviews work and maintains work standards.
Administers appropriate performance counseling and disciplinary action.
Maintains and organizes budgetary and financial records in compliance with federal and state laws, generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP).
Oversees the maintenance and operation of the financial software.
Prepares a variety of reports and correspondence. Prepares federal and state reports. Reviews and provides input on financial reports and analysis.

Professional & Personal Qualifications
CPA Required
Extensive Knowledge of Non-Profit Accounting Required
Ability to draft, complete, and submit all federal/state/and local compliance forms including 941’s, 990’s, nys45’s, and other applicable documents
MA/MS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics, and/or Business with a minimum of 3 plus years operating in a financial managerial role
Knowledge of multiple accounting processes including but not limited to payroll, A/R, A/P, and accrued accounting
Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks including ability to alter MACROS and customization's required
Strong knowledge of Microsoft office
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
Proven ability to handle multiple tasks effectively under pressure while successfully meeting critical deadlines
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and efficient
