As a Health Information Specialist, you will:
- Maintain 95% accuracy and efficiency to ensure timeliness and accuracy for compliance and patient safety.
- Ensure that electronic health records are complete, accurate, secure, confidential and readily accessible.
- Collect data, prepare reports, answer correspondence, coordinate medical records access for internal, external and insurance audits.
- Collect and send the medical and dental records to various organizations as necessary.
- Run periodic reports for document status.
- Screen and review source documents at time of entry for proper completion and accuracy.
Requirements:
- Minimum of one year of experience in medical office setting required.
- Experience with electronic health record required.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
