Locations : Escondido (Travel to all sites including Riverside is required depending on company need)
ROLE OVERVIEW and PURPOSE
The EMR Specialist works to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare by cultivating an environment that produces excellent patient-centered care within a dynamic team setting. This role is responsible for ongoing maintenance, utilization and customization of the EMR system including implementation of application, maintenance, and user training. The position has the responsibility of working as a liaison and project manager between administration, IT and clinical departments.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates EMR system training schedule for employees, independent contractors, students / interns and volunteers
- Trains new providers and shadows for the first week the provider is on the EMR system
- Develops EMR training materials to ensure appropriate content, practice exercises and measurement
- Troubleshoots employee issues with EMR issues and answers technical questions
- Works with external vendors to resolve problems and repairs of our EMR systems
- Assists with EMR interface testing
- Addresses recurring problems and pro-actively recognizes potential problems by maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the EMR functions, features, database structures and data entry requirements
- Travels to NHC sites as needed to monitor compliance to ensure consistent use and application of EMR system
- Conducts ongoing EMR optimization sessions at sites as needed
- Assists in the development and review of policies and procedures related to administration and operations of clinical applications
- Works directly with other departments as needed for communication of system enhancements and changes (e.g., IT, Learning and Development, Compliance, Lab, Billing, and Data teams)
- Develops strong relationship with operations and billing departments to develop course materials and receive feedback
- Advises how best to capture data in EMR system in the most efficient way to fulfill data / reporting requirements, such as suggesting templates, flow sheets, order sets and clinical measure usage
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Pay Range : $27.75 to $39.75 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
Salary : $28 - $40
