The External Affairs department helps Neighborhood diversify its contributed income via annual appeals, corporate giving, annual fundraisers, estate planning, and community-centric outreach; additionally government and policy relations advocacy. The External Affairs Team is looking for a motivated individual to intern in public relations and marketing for the remainder of the year. The internship is about 15 hours a week (flexible) and is tentatively expected to run until the end of the year. You’ll gain hands-on experience in PR, marketing, events, social media, and digital media within a nonprofit healthcare setting. Please note, this is a un-paid internship opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Media relations and research
- Writing and developing social media content
- Digital marketing
- Event coordination
- Maintaining media lists and client/donor records
- Proofreading and preparing presentation materials
- General administrative tasks like word processing and mail distribution
Requirements:
- Current college student or a recent graduate in a journalism, public relations, communications, or related field

- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Constant Contact, and Canva is preferred
