K1-2 Academic Dean/Instructional Coach [SY25/26]

Why NHCS?
Neighborhood House Charter School (NHCS) is a tuition-free open enrollment charter school for grades K1-12 in Dorchester that is a public alternative to traditional district schools. We serve over 800 students across two campuses predominantly from the neighborhoods of Dorchester, Roxbury and Mattapan. We believe in the social emotional well-being of our students and know that a well-coached and supported educator is instrumental in helping our scholars both academically and in their SEL growth. We do not give up on kids. Our expectation is that all of our students thrive at NHCS, graduate from high school and pursue post-secondary education on the path to life success. Our educators are partners with our scholars and their families as they embark on this path.

What is the K1-2 Academic Dean/Instructional Coach role?
The Academic Dean is responsible for working with other members of the organization’s instructional team, most notably the Academic Deans, School Principal, and Special Education Coordinator to lead efforts to systematize and improve the early childhood instruction and outcomes for students in grades K1 - 2.

Is this You?

• Our ideal candidates will have have at least 5 years of teaching experience with a minimum of 2 years experience teaching in an urban school
• Bachelors degree, Master's preferred
• Valid MA certification
• Strong leader, capable of inspiring and motivating teachers and other school professionals;
• Ability to articulate a clear vision, set appropriate goals, and develop a strong framework for implementation and accountability;
• Deep knowledge of Common Core State Standards with proven track record of leading teams of teachers to develop their understanding of the standards;
• Deep knowledge of best practices related to instructional techniques and pedagogy
• Mastery of subject knowledge
• Hold SEI Endorsement
• You are able to start August 2025.
