What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver position at Neighborhood House?
Neighborhood House is looking for a driver who will provide safe, courteous, and on-schedule transportation for our clients. Drivers will be responsible for driving 15 passenger vans providing transportation to and from our facility for our adult clients. Drivers are expected to work in conjunction with the Adult Day Services Manager to ensure that all clients are able to access transportation. All drivers will be required to learn how to load / unload clients who need adaptive services including wheelchairs or walkers. Training will be provided by NH prior to Driver being on a shift alone with clients. A background check, fingerprints and drug test will be administered as pre-employment requirements.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesFollow strict pick up / drop off schedules and communicate with the management team regarding all aspects of clients' transportation.Provide safe and sensitive handling of older clients in a prompt, helpful, courteous and compassionate manner.Assist the management team with changes and pertinent information about clients. Develop and maintain communication with managers, staff and client family members / caregivers.Ensure that vehicle mileage and maintenance logs are current.Each driver is responsible for keeping the vans filled with gas and reporting any operating problems to the Director of Adult Day Services or the Director of Operations.Develop and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members.Attending all-staff monthly meeting and other staff activities is required.Complete all reports required by Adult Day Services.All other duties as assignedQualificationsAt least 18 years old with a valid Utah Drivers' LicenseAbility to lift 30 pounds and help support up to 185 pounds.Be able to pass a background check and drug testCurrent COVID VaccinationFluent in English, Bilingual in Spanish is a plusWork HoursThe Driver position is split shift with hours from 7 : 30 - 10 : 00 AM and 2 : 30 - 5 : 00 PM as the organizational core operating hours are 7 : 30 AM - 5 : 30 PM.
