Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller with a strong background in the real estate industry to oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of real estate accounting, financial planning, and tax regulations, ensuring the company’s financial health and strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports for real estate assets and development projects.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, tax regulations, and real estate industry standards.
- Manage financial audits and liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and implement internal controls, financial policies, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor and optimize cash flow management, investment returns, and financing activities.
- Conduct financial analysis on property acquisitions, sales, leasing, and development projects.
- Oversee real estate tax filings, depreciation schedules, and cost segregation studies.
- Partner with senior management to provide strategic financial insights and improve profitability.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, CMA, or CFA preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in financial management with at least 3 years in the real estate sector.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in real estate accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of real estate finance, lease accounting, and tax regulations.
- Expertise in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
