Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of Leasing, the Leasing Assistant is responsible for assisting with leasing operations and tasks like processing referrals, lease preparation, lease violations, eviction postings, and apartment showings. The Leasing Assistant also assists in the handling of HMIS data entry, providing orientation for all prospective new tenants, and other administrative duties. The position will maintain documents and records in accordance with the company procedures, rental assistance programs, Ohio Landlord Tenant Law, Housing First, and Fair Housing requirements.
This is a full-time, non-exempt, hourly position.
Duties
- Assists Director of Leasing with necessary communication with perspective tenants and referral agencies to schedule lease signings, completion of paperwork, tenant orientations, etc.
- · Communicates and corresponds with various NPI departments for the purpose of sharing information necessary to house perspective tenants
- Adheres to agency policy on confidentiality
- Represents NPI at court in the eviction process and handles all necessary correspondence with NPI attorney, upon direction and/or when Director of Leasing is not available
- Assists Director of Leasing with communication with NPI Maintenance Department to orchestrate apartment unit turnovers so showings can be anticipated and scheduled for rent-ready units
- Assists with tracking and processing of apartment transfers, lease renewals and apartment re-certifications
Qualifications
- Demonstrate competence in work related behavior and a broad understanding of and ability to work with all cultures, ethnicities and populations
- Professional approach to activities and relationships with customers, clients, staff, public, other agency staff and any other persons related to customer
- Knowledge of local mental health agencies and related housing organizations
- Possess a high degree of integrity, self-motivation, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team while demonstrating high levels of professional and personal integrity
- Ability to work on projects requiring focus to specific details
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
