Position Overview:The Warehouse and Materials Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our roofing and repair projects by managing inventory, completing and/or coordinating material deliveries, and maintaining an organized and efficient warehouse. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who excels in logistics, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and supports the roofing teams by ensuring they have the materials and tools needed to deliver high-quality results on time.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Inventory Management:
- Track, manage, and maintain accurate inventory levels of roofing materials, tools, and equipment.
- Perform regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager to reorder materials when inventory reaches reorder points.
2. Warehouse Organization:
- Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
- Implement and maintain an efficient system for storing and retrieving materials and tools.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment and tools to ensure functionality.
3. Materials Procurement and Delivery Coordination:
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors to order materials and negotiate delivery timelines.
- Schedule and oversee material deliveries to the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate shipments.
- Verify delivery accuracy by cross-referencing packing slips and purchase orders.
4. Project Support:
- Collaborate with project managers and roofing teams to anticipate material needs for upcoming projects.
- Coordinate the return of unused materials from job sites and process refunds or exchanges when applicable.
- Maintain detailed records of material usage per project to support cost tracking and reporting.
- Arrive to work before roofing crews to prepare the warehouse for material pick up and assist roofing crews with loading materials for the day.
- Complete the pick up and delivery of materials to job sites as needed.
5. Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all warehouse activities comply with company policies and OSHA safety standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and provide training for warehouse personnel as needed.
6. Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and maintain logs, reports, and other documentation related to inventory, deliveries, and tool maintenance.
- Assist with budgeting for materials and warehouse operations.
Key Deliverables:
- Accurate and up-to-date inventory records.
- Timely delivery of materials to job sites without delays or shortages.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Regular reporting on inventory levels and project material usage.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in warehouse management, materials coordination, or a similar role, preferably in construction or roofing.
- Working Hours: Ability to adjust work schedule to support crews changing work schedules throughout the year due to weather and seasonality.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with roofing materials, tools, and construction processes is highly preferred.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and the ability to operate a forklift (certification preferred).
Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in warehouse management or logistics are a plus.
