What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housing Coordinator position at Neighborhood Service Center?
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Works under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director. Responsible for providing a professional linkage between individuals and/or families and the services available in the community; thereby minimizing a crisis that could result in an eviction or utility disconnect.
EXAMPLES OF WORK:
1) Responsible for notifying residents of NSC Properties and performing Monthly Inspections
2) Responsible for notifying residents of HUD Properties and performing Monthly Inspections
3) Responsible for yearly income re-evaluations for tenants of all properties to redo their leases.
4) Taking and responding to concerns from tenants.
5) Refer individuals and/or families facing emergency crisis to other services (i.e., Health Department, Social Services, Salvation Army, etc).
6) Maintain accurate, in-depth, and up to date records of client and program support files.
7) Attend meetings, trainings, etc. pertaining to programs for emergency services.
8) Inputting Emergency Services documents into the Data Entry System, on a as needed basis.
9) Operate agency’s multiple line telephone system, on a as needed basis.
10) Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: High school diploma or GED. Ability to work flexible hours. Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation. Must be able to travel (some overnight travel is required). A general knowledge of services available in the community. Posses skills in dealing with all types of people and resolving problems through negotiations. Requires general skills in writing, reading, and verbal communication.
