Veterinary Kennel Assistant – Part Time
SUMMARY:
Neighborhood Veterinary Care is looking for a Veterinary Kennel Assistant to become a part of our team! RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Clean, sterilize, and organize kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, lab, and laundry
- Restraining animals for examination or treatment
- Friendly, enthusiastic, compassionate, and professional demeanor with clients, patients and co-workers
- Ability to perform tasks involving cleaning supplies, medications, and sharps responsibly and according to OSHA guidelines
- Basic knowlege of computers
- Check patients in while collecting relevant health history and information from clients and maintain/update medical charts when directed
- Intrest in learning phone systems and appointment scheduling
- Strong interest in learning to perform basic veterinary care including but not limited to nail trims, subcutaneous fluids, medication administration, administering vaccinations, and performing diagnostic imaging with digital x-ray under the direction of the DVM
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong attention to details in a fast-paced setting and ability to multi-task
- Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude under stressful situations
- Flexible availability 2-5 days a week working early evenings, with some weekends and holidays
